I am sponsoring my wife.
I was previously sponsored by group (not an individual) on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
IMM5533 Part B Question 4 is asking for a specific and date of birth of sponsor if I've been previously sponsored.
I've read other answers that say this is only if I was previously sponsored by a spouse but the way the question is asked I don't understand why people would say that.

• If a spouse or partner sponsored you, you can’t sponsor a new spouse or partner within five years of becoming a permanent resident."

I underlined and made italic the relevant part. Since you were not sponsored as a spouse or partner, it does not apply to you.

The 5 year period only applies to someone who was sponsored by their previous spouse/common law partner.

Real question is did you recently get married and if not, was your wife mentioned in your H&C application?

Married July 2022. I was sponsored in 2018 through H&C so I had not met my wife at that time.
