I sponsored my husband from India. Our case was rejected and had to go through the appeal process. On March 16, 2010 I had my ADR meeting and won. My meeting was through video conference and so they mailed the agreement letter for me to sign. The day I received it I signed it and mailed it back. So does anyone know how long it will take before my husband will get his passport request (delhi) and the visa in his hand. I appreciate anything anyone can give me.
Overseas offices are supposed to prioritise processing of approved appeals. That doesn't seem to always happen though. You're through the worst part though - congratulations on winning the appeal.
Very likely, if the medical is over a year old, or the police certificates are over 6 months old. They will probably also ask for an updated work / address history.
So its likely a good idea to just get the police clearance certificate and medical redone before they ask for it just so there are no delays.
Do the same IO that rejected our application also work on our case after we have won the appeal? I am really worried about that because she was very discriminatory, saying that no indian should marry a canadian and how indian men chase after white skin and other things that I wont go into. I complained to the High Commission in Delhi and an investigation was held and it turned out as he said she said kind of thing but they did put a note on her file and that she is not to have any accusations against her again. If she does handle our case I am sure this will take much longer than necessary. She made our life a living hell. Asking for addtionational documents more than once. We kind of felt that before my husband went to the interview we felt it was not looking good. Even though we had 5 inches stacked paper of proof. I know if we dont do the medical and ppc now she will do something to drag this on much longer than we have already had to go through. I might be worrying for nothing.
