Dear all,
I have to take IELTS test on Jan 09, 10. I am scared particularly of 250 words essay. I wonder what if I don't have much knowledge of the topic to write 250 words.
What to do in that case.
Faisal.
I have seen that the topics are very generic in nature, for example: What do you think of tourists and their effect on local culture etc.
Usually you should begin by introduction of the topic, present two sides of the story and enforce your opinion and justify it.
Oh and timing is key, even if you know what you are going to right sometimes you can end abruptly because you ran out of time.

250 is minimum limit. There is no upper limit. Even my letter my more than 300 words. It doesn't make any difference if you exceed the minimum limit.
I am glad my experience helped you. I am amazed that you had that much time to write 400+ words
Cheers.

Hi faisal,
What eassy topic you got ? n what letter they gave you to write???? would u please share ur experience. thanks
Dear Shahzad,
Letter was that "You got admission in a course in an English Speaking country but can not attend, write letter to university why you can not attend the course and ask them for future courses"
Essay was that "some people say that there is more happiness in teenage life than in adult life, what do you thing which life is more happier"
Please note that the above wordings are not exact wordings of paper, these are my own but theme is same as of paper. All those people who are taking IELTS, I would suggest to subscribe to www.ielts-blog.com. This is very very useful site, they send email updates on questions that are asked in IELTS in different countries.
Regards
Faisal.
