Thanks for the wishes. I got 7.5 in the first attempt without any prep and was confident that by an hour practice I would get 8. Didn't happen. My overconfidence came back to bite me. I took things seriously between the 4th and 5th attempt with daily consistent practice. Before that I took things too lightly as for me it was just an English exam.
I maxed out listening and speaking, reading I got 7.5 but on writing 6.5.
The second question I got was awful compared to what was I practicing against.
I'm looking to try and get a tutor for a few hours a night a week, hopefully some of it will stick but after long stressful days at work im not so sure.
My wife just took the IELTS exam in Macau today, the task 2 was something like:
"Some people prefer to have more money and less free time while others prefer to have more free time and less money.
Discuss both views and give your opinion."
Good luck to everybody who takes the IELTS this weekend!
Yes, it had that, it was about aquaculture (fish, lobsters, prawns...Etc) and it was something related to researches funded between Australia, Japan, Malaysia and other Asian countries to increase productivity among other things.

Wow, good writing score there; it is even better than your listening score, how come?
How did you manage 7.5 for writing? Any guidance for the rest of us to tackle the writing module? - Thanks
