bifurcation???
is that a breakdown???
with that level of English you'll get straight 9's for sure!!!
is it that the points awarded based on the individual scoring from IELTS chaged recently? i believe that the people who had applied in 2005 and 2006 they had to get indivdual score of 7 in L/W/S/R to get the maximum of 16points but now it is believed to be some chages as if you get 6.5 for writing and all others 7 you can get the maximum. Can anyone clarrify this

If you took the test after 28/11/08 you would get
Listening 5 = 1
Speaking 6 = 2
Writing 5 = 1
Reading 4 = 1
Total 5 points.

Hi,
I have got the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp once posted by Rupeshhari which is a good source for calculating IELTS score. In my case it will be S: 6.5 (4) + L: 6.5 (2) + R: 5.5 (2) + Wr: 5.5 (2) = 10 .
Thanks.
dear charninder,
sorry for my wrong information, your scoring is right. you get 10 points.

I am sorry, I have just checked your quote. You are right. My friend will get 10 points. This information was vital because now his total points will be 68. Anyway, thanks for providing me the appropriate link.
Thanks everybody for prompt replies.
Cheers..
Hi ,
Could you please tell me what would be my score as I have got L:7, S:7, R:6 and W: 6 as per the new rules.
Thanks and regards
This will give us all a clear view of the changes came into effect in IELTS scoring
requirements. No need to panic, its the change they made which makes no substantial difference
from the previous one.

Guys
please
go to the official guidelines and instruction by CIC to see how IELTS points are calculated
do the calculation yourself, then you cannot blame others if you cannot add up!!!
