I have given IELTS 3 times in the last 2 months. I am falling short of 0.5 in reading and was wondering if submitting the result for rechecking will increase reading by 0.5. Do you know the cost of rechecking and how long it would take. I really don't want to give another IELTS. Below are my scores
Ouch! Rechecking in most cases only improves writing and speaking scores as listening and reading is just cross-checking the answers where the examiners can hardly go wrong at.
rechecking takes a month and costs about 70-80% of the fees. But is your scores improve they refund your money.
important thing to note is rechecking will mostly be effective for Speaking and writing sections as listening and reading sections are checked by computer and are objective. So chances of score improvement in reading and listening are very very slim.
I was lucky to be successful in re-marking/checking. Check my signature.
Thanks a lot. I'm going to give 1 last attempt next month. I will improve my reading and practice the rest to maintain the same scores. By then my wife's WES will be ready and we will be ready to enter the pool. I want to ensure I enter the pool with a good score and before I turn 30.
