When you take the ielts exam in a foreign country are the test examiners/administrators British Nationals? Is that the reason its best to understand British accents?

If you submit a toefl exam will it just be returned to you?

For a job that only requires minimal English language skills with no reading and writing skills why do they even ask for this test!

hi, its not necessary to get british accent and not always british council, actually alot of english language test available, all you need to do first check for what purpose u taking test and what kind of test accept ur designated colleges, universities and work place

im in united kingdom and they accept 25 different kind of english laguage test including TOEFL

Thank you for your response. So sometimes for work purposes they will accept TOEFL? as it's a unskilled job in Canada which requires the language test.

How does a person find out what English tests are acceptable?

IELTS is the only language test accepted by Canadian Government if you want to apply for immigration. But if it's for work purposes, it depends on what the work place accepts (TOEFL, IELTS..etc).

It's best if you call work place / company that you're planning on applying at to see what test they accept.

Actually CIC also accepts CELPIP for Immigration.

Thank you. I'm a little confused though
CIC - only accepts IELTS and CELPIP
Workplace - may accept different tests

So either way a person needs IELTS or CELPIP?
