I remember that this listening test was available in Road to IELTS app. So, many people supposed to get good score (8 and above). But British Council did not announce result for many candidates. Also none got the final exam score, the score 6.5 to 7 which was taken in the App during practice session was given as the final band score for listening test .
I knew that my answers were correct but I was given 6.5 which was the score I took in the practice test.
I met the BC in person. My wife's and mine are withheld. When approached they said there are 5806 ppl across pan India whose results are withheld and its very normal it seems. This is oly with BC. Those who Ve made it thru IDP are also having similar issues.
So need not panic. The pain of waiting for the result for a few more days is horrendous. Let's stay positive and hope to get good points.
Do you get any info how long does it take to release our result?
as per reading posts on thread, everybody says takes 3-4 weeks.
I would prefer to appear in exam again rather than waiting for result as many says they withheld because of huge band gap between modules ex: reading got 7-8 or writing just got 5.5.
In my case, LWS was good except Reading. So there must be few band difference between these modules. As a result they withhold my result. so I would planning for seating again in next date. If you know what went wrong in your case then its not worth to wait for result.
Guys don't spread such false news unless you are 100% sure. Its bit frustrating that we dont get desired scores but such action is highly impossible. They do fake some score by 0.5 as per some videos but change of papers is unlikely.
Just stay positive for your results and if you think you performed well just go for EOR.
1. Reading - Most of the test takers are over confident that they have marked their answers correct, but, in reality questions are usually twisted and the answers are not as straight forward as we think. Thorough practice can help us cross the obstacle.
2. Listening - Answers should be exactly what we hear in tape. Dont try to add or subtract any word. Also, try to look out for singular or plural word by fitting your answer and reading entire line.
3. Writing - Practice, practice and practice. Correct logical flow, use of different grammar structures - both simple and complex, Moderate level vocabulary can help you achieve a band 7 minimum.
4. Speaking - Just relax and face the examiner as you are talking to a colleague. Keep tone appopriate, use good vocabulary, connecting devices can help you excel in this.
I hope this can help all of us to get desired bands. Do share your experience as well.
I received an email for the same today morning. Got a chance to check with them they said it’s across the region and even they are waiting for some confirmation from IELTS.
Probably that’s why IDP is putting update date as 24th while BC has pushed it to 29th.
Im not sure but could have something to do with the back log caused by dec 16 test which was released here only last week. I believe results can be expected anytime during this week.
