Hey there
my partner applied for an IEC (international experience visa) last year and for personal reasons after the visa was given to him he could no go in the window to enter the country by, so what I'm asking is.....can he extend or apply again. he is an air craft engineer and a job however has popped but the employer who is sorting out visas has said because he has applied for this visa and he is already on the system he said this could be messy.
I cannot find any information on someone renewing their window to enter the country and have his visa. I would really appreciate any help you can give me as I'm a stressed out mess, the job is supposed to start on the 22nd!!!!

If he's from the UK - the answer is no. Those from the UK are only eligible to participate once. Your partner has unfortunately used up his one participation.
He would need to apply for a closed work permit. To qualify to apply for a closed work permit his employer needs to offer him a job and also obtain an approved LMIA. The LMIA process typically takes somewhere between 2-6 months to complete and there's no guarantee of approval. The first step is for the employer to advertise the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. You can find out more about the LMIA process here:
