I received a study permit extension, but not a visa.

I originally planned to stay here only until April 30th, so both my work permit and visa expire that day. However there was a change of plans and I ended up taking an extra quarter at school, so I now Leave in June. I applied online and received a study permit on the mail, but I didn't receive a new visa. I don't really have to leave the country until my studies are over so I'm not worried about airport immigration, but I'm worried about my legal status here since I thought I needed a visa to stay in Canada.

My understanding is that it is your study permit that'll allows you to stay in Canada. And a TRV is required to enter Canada and would need to be obtained separately from the study permit.
