How long ago was this? If necessary (in your shoes), I'd apply for 'criminal rehabilitation' myself, rather than forking over two grand, that would come with NO guarantees. Many here can enlighten you on how to do that.

I don't think a pardon would help if OP managed to get it. It won't erase the record.

Yes it will ! I just read it on the official CIC website , the offense was committed in Canada so he can apply for a canadian pardon .

If you were convicted of a summary offence you will have to wait five years before you can apply for a record suspension (pardon) You can find more info here :

Did you in fact receive a conviction or was it a discharge? Minor charges sometimes result in a conditional discharge. (usually this includes a short term of probation)

If in fact you received a discharge you will have your record automatically removed after three years.

I'm not sure if they will consider you for PR prior to a record suspension being issued
