I wrote IELTS on 15th of Jan-09 and sent initial application to CIO, NS on 08th of Jan-10 (Now my ecas is showing that CIO had received my application of 08th of Jan-10) and send full docs to Visa Office on 12th of March-10
Do I need to rite IELTS again?
If I get my ecas status comes "In Process" would it means they excepted my IELTS and he will not demand updated IELTS?
i think IELTS validity is 2 years. u sent full docs within 1 year. so, ur IELTS was valid.
if the e-cas goes to 'In Process' it usually means u got enough points based on the docs that u sent. but doesn't necessarily guarantee that they will not ask for extra docs later on.
to be honest, i think they won't ask u for another IELTS

IELTS results are valid for 2 years.....its written on test report. However Visa office may require that your score should not be older than 1 year, but i know some ppl who got 2nd AOR with 14 months old IELTS

Do you bother to read the instructions? They are only valid for 1 year for Immigration purposes and must not be older than 1 year when your application to CIO Nova Scotia is submitted.

Have you read the instructions? Visa office instructions says that IELTS must not be older than 1 year so it means that it should not be older than 1 year when your application to CHC/visa office is submitted; not when submitted to CIO Nova Scotia.
Thanks PMM. In Visa office instructions it is clearly mentioned that IELTS should not be older than one year upon submission? But where it has mentioned that it should not be older than one year upon submission to CIO? Can you please provide the link?

Go through the Operational Bulletins 089 which includes
VII. Procedural notes
Lock-in date
The lock-in date will be the date that the application is received at the CIO (occupations on the list) or at the visa office (AEOs, Temporary Foreign Workers and International Students).
No need to appear in IELTS again ,I can assure u that it ll be fully acceptable at CHC cuz , as per the rule ur IELTS was expired on 15.1.2010 after ur application reached at NS office (on 8.1.2010), means u applied just under the 1 yr time period, lock in period is ' when application received at CIO, NS and not CHC" , so nothing to worry now. have fun!
