I am on study permit at BC Canada..enrolled in a 2 years masters program.I arrived here along my 2 younger kids, I am over with my first semester, has got GPA 3, now I want to call my 14 and 13 years daughters to me.....I heard therea re more chances of rejection if application for dependent children is filed after arriving here? I am very desperate...please guide me what to consider while applying to minimize chances of rejection? will finding admission in private schools will help? will they still be considered as my dependents?...If I plan to move to another province would I be able to carry them along or not...plz plz plz give yr expert opinion ,may be I can have peace of mind.thanks
Not sure if this is the appropriate thread to post here. This thread deals with family PR sponsorship. You did not mention anything about yourself being sponsored as PR so I am assuming you are only here on study visa.
That said, because we are not dealing with PR procedure here, I think you may have a difficult time in getting your daughters here. They would require a study visa to attend school in Canada. The tuition would be very high as they would have to pay international fees. You would also need to find a school willing to accept your daughters. These are the things to consider to bring your daughters to Canada.
Somebody with more experience dealing specifically with study visas would be able to give you more informed advice on what to do.
Thanks Guys! I did posted my query on international student forum and from there I was adviced to post here, as my case is related to family sponsorship....not to study permit????
I clearly mentioned that I am on study permit..in 2 years masters program, I can afford expenses of their school as they are already attending American school in middle east...I just fear that getting admission and filing for visa may not remove them from dependent status..?? in case if I plan to move from BC to another province will they be able to do so???what will u suggest to apply for them as dependents or bring them on separate study permits.?Thanks if any one of you can give insight I will be grateful..
I would recommend you read through the posts in the International Students section of the forum. There are many posts there that deal with bringing family members to Canada while you are in Canada on a study permit. You can also try the Visitors section of the forum.
