How to submit passports in USA?

Hi,

We just received confirmation of permanent residence email from CIC and instructions to submit our passports and pictures for completion of our PR application. The instructions state to send the passports in India, however we are currently in USA. We'd provided CIC with updated address, but they still sent instructions to submit passports in India. We can't travel to India currently. How and where can I submit my passports and pictures from USA for Canadian PR visa? I'm located in Chicago, IL.

First, send an email to IRCC (you will find the email address in the email you just received) and ask to change your visa office. You will get another Passport Request email with updated instructions to send your passport to CPC Ottawa instead. Good Luck!

I've just received additional info from a friend who was in USA and received Canadian PR. I reviewed his confirmation of permanent residence email and checked out the instructions. I can submit my docs to CPC Ottawa office. I also received this office as an option in my mail. Do I still need to request change of visa office or can I just send my docs to CPC Ottawa? It seems that i can just send them my docs since they listed this visa office in my mail.
