I'm Sponsoring my wife for PR, and her Work Permit was expired last year. She got a new Work permit last week, but the starting date of the new WP is from this August
So I'm wondering how can we get a proof for her Implied status since last year, because we have some medical cost during that period want to be claimed from OHIP

Hi! As far as I know is once you are in Implied Status during your PR and OWP application you have to stay with your current employer until you received your 1st stage Approval and the Open Work Permit from CIC.
But, we'll see if anybody have more inputs with your question.

What kind of work permit did she have that expired last year?
If she was eligible for OHIP with implied status, then why didn't OHIP pay for medical costs when they actually happened? If the OHIP card expired or she lost OHIP, then I don't think you have much chance to get anything back-dated and reimbursed.

I was told by doctors that I might be able to get reimbursed. but from what I got after calling CIC, I don't think that's the case.
But I'm just really furious, CIC took 18 months (said 6 months when I applied) to process our PR application and OWP application, we lost the health coverage which was supposed to be there for us.
