@RnDtech I am quite interested, if you manage to apply SIN online while you were on 14 days quarantine

I will apply once my quarantine days are over and I move-in an apartment from airbnb. Is there any reason we need to rush in getting SIN? I think initially our salary can be paid without SIN , as well.

As for my employer, they require SIN spot on, so I wonder if we can apply online while on quarantine

not sure though but it is on my contract specifically written, you can actually apply online since you are already in Canada.

I see. Yes, I will also apply as soon as I move in an apartment. So that I can show it as mailing address. I will also apply online, it seems that we can get SIN within 20 days after we apply for it.

All employers require SIN before they can pay you salary. That's what they use for taxes and other deductions.

If let say still outside Canada but you already have an address (office address) can we apply SIN online?

On the same boat. At least the website says no authorization letter is needed for someone from US to CA

Thanks. I assume you are PR or Canadian citizen. I find it interesting that for family of temporary workers, it says that travel must be essential & non discretionary & then lists reasons & none are to be with or reunite with family.

I'm temporary worker with work permit.
