How to fix a travel history

Hey Guys, I applied for a study permit to Canada for 2 years and a half period and it got refused by the VO, he said that I didnt convice him that I would leave Canada after finishing my studies, and also ticked two boxes, Travel history and ties to canada or home country. I asked in an agency and they tell me I should apply for the american visit visa and visit the country and return to acquire some travel history. My question is, my country let me visit say germany,france or any country in the EU without a visa, so for example going to germany for my next vacation or france and returning home is valid and strong to fix my travel history problem?
