It's been a long while I'm not hearing back from IRB after my 2nd eligibility interview but recently I saw that on July 21, 2023 they did the Background Check again. Does this mean they are working on it to schedule hearing ?

It hasn't been determined yet and I didn’t receive anything from IRB. Lastly, I checked the portal account and saw there was a 2nd time background check done on July 21st.

If you were in the western part I would give you a number to call. I was calling and a lady in Vancouver was very kind and was explaining every process to me and once she told me she would try to get a closer date for me. In the end I received my refugee status in only 10 months. That means in June 2023. Don’t rely on lawyers they are businessmen sometimes you have to fight by yourself.

Whether you qualify as less complex has a large influence on how fast your case will be processed.

Yeah, they did background check 2nd time on July 21st. On February 06, 2023 they checked once.

If you are considered we less complex you should hear soon. Applying for asylum involves mostly waiting. If you already have a WP I would focus on working, finding permanent housing, etc. which are things that are in your control at the moment.

Hey. I m in the same situation we are a family of 3 and i m the main applicant. Applied inland Toronto office. I have the same update on my spouse application. Background check completed on 21st july. We received our brown paper on march 08th 2023 and haven’t got any update. My application is the same just my spouse has this change. Please update me what happens next. Thank you
