How to Calculate 6 Month Stay on Visitor Visa for Canada

Please, if someone can help. How Canadian Immigration calculate 6 months. for example

If someone comes on 5th of Feb 2011

Is that Visa will expire on 5th of August?
or
Will they physically calculate 180 days?

Please help

Why do you believe that the time is critical, I assume you are aware that you can apply for an extension to stay in Canada.
FWIW When I was given a six month visitor record, it was six months - (if issued with a start date of 5th Feb 2011, it would be dated with 4th August 2011).

My in Laws are not looking for an extension at all. My inquiry was for to keep them as long as I can within 6 Month. To book their Air Ticket I was not sure to either calculate the days manually of just pick 6 months from the date they are planing to enter to Canada.
