I want to apply for restoration of my post graduate work permit tomorrow as my work permit is expiring on December 6, 2012. Is it possible to do so ? Please advise what is the procedure ? Do I need to apply online on CIC website or should send paper documents to them ? I have already applied for SINP but do not want to take risk till last moment.
You will not be able to extend your post graduate work permit. In order to remain your legal status in Canada, you will need LMO and extend your work permit that way.
I do not think you need a job offer to extend your post gradaute work permit as shown here in the link (Read the second paragraph please):

At the same time, if your work permit mentions that "your document issued to passport expiry, must be renewed for further extension" or something, I believe that means you are eligible to extend it.
But, have anyone applied for extension online? I could not reach to this situation because if the online service provides you the available application based on your answers, and the questions are limited!

You can apply for PGWP without a job offer - yes - if you graduate from a eligible post secondary school
You can apply for a PGWP extension - no
PGWP is a "once a life time" kind of thing. If your PGWP expires/going to expire, you either have to apply for regular work permit or apply for a bridging work permit if you are in the process of a PR application.
