How to apply for ARC? PLEASE HELP

Hello Guys,

We applied for my father's visitor visa on 08/11/2019 online for my brother's engagement which is next month in Canada( we all siblings are settled in Canada now) and they have requested us to submit ARC since my father was deported from Canada 40 years back in 1979 for overstaying .

Can anyone please tell how to submit the ARC? What all documents we need to submit?

Note that ARC processing can often take several months.

I have gone through this link and since we have already submitted all our documents with visitor visa so we really don't have anything else to submit.

Does this mean that we just need to submit the $400 fees for ARC and attach that receipt with a supporting letter?

I have an update to share. We submitted the fees for ARC 28th August with a letter explaining the situation.

On 4th September, they asked to pay back the removal costs since Canadian govt paid for the tickets back in 1979 when my father was deported.

We have already made the payment of $1500 on the same day. Can we consider this that my father has a good chance of getting a visa?

Please share any experience related to this.

Yes - this should be a good sign. However difficult to say how much longer you may be waiting before you have final approval.

After 6 months of long wait, finally CIC called my father today and asked some questions around ARC like when he was deported , who paid for tickets, flight information and did anyone escorted him to airport and some papers. My dad answered almost every question but he didn't know the flight name and details since it happened 40 years ago.

We have already submitted the flight fees of $1500 in September 2019 and we had no idea that CIC is going to call my dad.

We haven't received the passport request yet.. can we expect it soon now? Is this a good sign?
