Processing offices must undertake the following steps to finalize an e-application.

Right of Permanent Residence Fee
The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) must be paid before an application can be finalized.

For more information on the RPRF, please refer to the program delivery instructions on Fee payment .

Passport request letter
Once an application has been approved and a final decision has been entered, the processing office must send the ‘Passport Request’ letter to the applicant through their MyCIC account.

Request for photos

Applicants and their accompanying dependents are required to submit electronic photos as part of their complete e-application. Applicants are asked to ensure that these photos conform with Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC’s) Permanent Resident Card Photo Specifications (PDF, 614.24 KB).

At this time, the electronic photos uploaded by applicants cannot be used for the permanent residence card; therefore, CIC will not reject an application as incomplete if the photos submitted do not comply with CIC’s prescribed photo specifications.

The ‘Passport Request’ letter, therefore, includes a request for hard copy photos. Applicants are instructed to mail these photos to CIC.

Request for passport

Applicants from visa-exempt countries

The ‘Passport Request’ letter instructs the applicant on how to send a photocopy of the bio data page of their passport and, if applicable, the bio data page of the passports of their accompanying spouse and dependent children.

Applicants from visa-required countries

The ‘Passport Request’ letter instructs the applicant on how to send their valid passport and, if applicable, the valid passports of their accompanying spouse and dependent children.

Permanent resident visas cannot be affixed to diplomatic, official or military passports.

Note: Half Knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge. I rest my case. I should have searched on website in first instance

I was browsing forums 3 days ago and saw a guy's post saying he got it in a week's time.

Maybe it was a long weekend and. Counsels are busy processing visas of tourists going on vacation during summers.
God knows! This entire process had made me restless, with lots of anxiety and worried!

Anyways, hope everyone gets their visa in time. Do keep posting ! It really helps!

Got PPR on April 13 and sent Passport on April 13 itself and still waiting for my Visa....Why after Approval they are taking so long.

I have to book tickets and I read somewhere that guy sent passport on March 6 and got it on March 31, I mean I like what is wrong with just putting a stamp and send it back...

I already had invited for CIIP GO Session now....Over the top, my mom says asking for passport doesn't mean its approval (Note she is 66 years old and doesn't understand English :P

Approx. 10 days

I think you are just worrying too much. It takes 7-8 days to get your passport stamped.

Copying and pasting what I wrote in another post

PPR Means Acceptance.

If they have issued PPR, in other words, this is Permanent Resident Visa Issuance, NDVO won't deny you.

Yes you could be falling under few scenarios

You can be denied entry at the border by the immigration officer.
Even after entering Canada, your residency status can be canceled.
Canada can even withdraw citizenship after granting it.

I don't think any of us who skilled migrants do any illegal stuff so calm down!

To use pre-arrival services
To access these free in-person and online services, you must be outside Canada, and you must have one of the following documents:

An IRCC invitation letter to obtain pre-arrival services,
A Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter,
A passport request letter that indicates Permanent Resident visa issuance,
An IRCC request that an applicant for permanent residence complete medicals,
A Single Entry Permanent Resident Visa, or
A Permanent Resident Visa pick up notification letter
These services are for Permanent Resident applicants only. Temporary Residents are not eligible for the services.

Lately people have been trolling with some half/wrong information, I'll say trust the official source

Thanks ;D 8)

Hopefully, you will get the visa soon :D ;) :)

Hi Guys,

Any of you having fields in your profile, for Uploading Passport and digital photo ? and if not, then why i have these 2 buttons here. :'(. Any suggestions.

Thanks.

Hey, could you share the screen shot? Please

Anyone who received. Passports and copr. Any timeline?

None of us actually!

It is taking ages for them to put counterfoil and issue CoPR and meanwhile few trollers have started spreading that PPR doesn't imply application approved... :o :( :o

:o ??? ::) :P

Saudamini, You are more anxious and worried than people who haven't got the PPR lol ;D

Just relax, give it a week or so and remember they are literally very busy. Btw I ordered GCMS Notes and I am 99.9% Sure in India when NDVO sends PPR they will issue you PR Visa. :P

I think you just want someone to say otherwise and then you will start giving links to CIC showing that PPR means PR Visa Issuance. I guess you are just being overwhelmed! Try to relax and start looking for jobs 8)

Hi Saudamini,

Can you guide me how to pay RPRF fees?

Is it through E-Payment portal and one has to register on that portal to be able to pay the RPRF fee??

Or one has to login into their CIC account to be able to pay the same??

Your prompt reply will be highly appreciated

Thanks in advance /-

I submitted my passport on 27th March and still waiting. Usual processing time for the stamping and return of the passport back to VFS, is approximately 20-25 days. It might delay in some special cases. For me personally, i will put it to 80 % confirm, untill I get stamped passport and COPR in my hand. Hope this will ease u a bit. Best of luck.
