no pass fail...just depend how much required by ur university or immi. office

for Canada immigration:

listening: 5 - 1 point
reading: 4 - 1 point
writing: 5 - 1 point
speaking: 5 - 1 point

Total: 4 points

There is no pass or fail. All you need is 67 points to qualify for skilled immigration. e.g If you have 60 points for all other criteria you need only 7 points from IELTS. To see how many points you can get from IELTS read read" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf page 10

No, 2 points as all scores are basic, so the maximum with basic is 2.

Hi everyone,

I would like to present my website put online just recently in order to help to calculate your band score, overall score etc...
It has other useful information and resources about IELTS scoring system.
The major advantage of this website is that it is using the scoring system of half and whole band score, where other sites just give whole score.
Please check it out at:

IELTS.Calculator.free.fr

Good luck to all and do not hesitate to share this website with your friends.

Why not just use the scoring grid in CIC's instructions? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf page 10.
