We submitted our application to Sydney, Nova Scotia from Johannesburg South Africa, and it was received by them on the 28th of April 2010. As yet, the fee has not come off our credit card.
Does anyone know how long it takes to process the applicaiton in the first instance? How long can we expect to wait before we hear from them if we can proceed with the application at our own visa office? The website says 80% of Pretoria cases get processed in 7 months so it sounds like it shouldn't take too long.
Would really appreciate any advice or sharing of your experiences.
I just read some of the posts from that thread, and people seem to disagree about the language test results. We did them, but our guide said not to submit them so we didn't, but now I see a whole bunch of people said that application won't be assessed if you didn't submit them. Is that right?
The IELTS result is not required when submitting the application to CIO but that is now mandatory while submitting the complete application with docs at your local CHC.

45-90 days of receiving first AOR fom CIO sydney.....
Ielts is not still mandatory to submit at the time to CIO. But make sure claim that much points exactly which you can get later when you submit app. with full docs to CHC..
