I am being sponsored by my husband. My file is in process at Buffalo office since Nov 3, 2009. Today I got a letter saying that "the initial assessment is now complete. Medicals recieved and no additional document required, interview not required".
They have taken 4 months to send me the initial assessment. How long it would take to get a passpsort request?
Impossible to know for sure. Buffalo's timeline for processing spousal aps is 4-10 months from when they receive the ap in Buffalo - so that's what they try to stick to. It's good that they've got everything they need and that no interview will be required but it surprises me that it took 4 months to get that completed. We got our initial assessment letter within 3 weeks after they received our file - but that was 3 years ago. Sounds like they've gotten a little bit backlogged. They have recently changed their timeline from 4-9 months to 4-10 months, but that really doesn't indicate a huge change. I expect you're probably not too far now from finalization - simply because they've indicated that there are no irregularities with the ap and that usually means they can finalize rather quickly.
