Got DM in ECAS last Friday (Jan. 24), but no update in GCKey account and no PPR email yet.

If all goes well you should get PPR within a few weeks.
Hopefully your spouse is not from Wuhan or other related areas?
That could be a problem !

She is in Beijing but I still see there is eminent threat everywhere in China. There is a possibility that WHO would declare this event as public health emergency of international concern and closes down traffic from china...

That hasn't happened yet. Good thing is your spouse can go directly to the Visa Center, pay the fees, and
hand deliver the passport for processing. If your'e concerned about crowds then will have to rely on the mail system.
Just make sure they have the correct return address for delivery.

The ' WHO ' was one of my favorite bands back in the day.

All visa application centres in mainland China are temporarily closed, and consular office will be providing only basic services such as passport renewals and emergency services such as medical assistance, emergency benefits and missing persons.
According to the embassy's website, the immigration service will continue to provide services and prioritize the processing of travel documents for customers and permanent residents "who need to travel urgently to Canada for humanitarian and compassionate reasons."

Lots of ' fear mongering ' due to social media. Can't even buy a dust mask to work on vehicles.
Flights are being cancelled at YVR today ....Have to wait it out and see what happens in the next few weeks.
If this blows up then no one will be traveling anywhere.
