Anyone have a rough idea how long does it take to get the first PR card after landing? Wife landed at YVR on Oct 28/2020. And are there anyways to check the status of the PR card?

I see people getting it arounf 1.5 mths after landing date. You can only send enquiry if you dont get it in 180 days.

The average processing time for first PR card is 120 days+ since the pandemics.

approximately 2 months. No way to check status. Pay attention to your incoming email from IRCC for any missing information, e.g., rejected photo etc.

Just one question for u . Did they tell u to submit new photos? Or did they take a photo of your at the airport? And congrats!

The reason why i ask is because my wife landed by herself. She forgot if she handed the officer new photos. Plus she doesnt understand English at all so she didn't know what was going on

You can check the permanent resident card processing status by linking your application in GCkey account. My application was approved on Nov 23. I am still waiting for the card. But it's true that you could not check the mail tracking.

Congratulations to everyone who has received decisions on their applications! I am still waiting on my application since January 2019. Does anyone know if the Hong Kong office is currently working on these spousal applications or are they on pause?

That's a long time.....The HK office is working on spousal applications.
May be some issues around your application? Have you contacted IRCC ?
