hello all
my wife from Guangzhou China finally got the COPR and the Canadian visa stamped on her Chinese passport, we will be flying to Edmonton at the end of Sept.
I was wondering if she need to get a exit-permit from the local Public Security Bureau in order to leave China? Or does she just need her Chinese passport, the COPR letter and the one way air ticket to Edmonton?
I think you'd be better off calling the Public Security Bureau for this question so they can give you the official answer. I'd do ASAP as well because I don't know how quick that process is if you do need an exit permit.
I was kind of afraid this might happen, the curse of double checking to hear something different. How long does it take to get an exit permit. My view has always been to over prepare for eventualities especially with government departments, better off getting the exit permit rather than not doing it and being stopped at the border.
finally confirmed yesterday that my wife doesn't need an exit-permit to leave china ... just her Chinese passport, her air ticket, and the CDN immigration visa with the COPR letter will be fine
hi
initially we were dealing with the HK VO when they requested us to mail additional docs
but it was Beijing where we mailed her Chinese passport for the CDN visa

hey,
I am July, 2016 applicant, DM1 was showed online on Sep.5th. is there anyone know when I will receive the AOR2 email from HongKong?
How is the speed of VO-HongKong recently?
Thanks.
Hi, I'm planning to sponsor my wife from Hongkong to be PR in Canada. She is currently living with me. All I have see on the CIC website is that I will have at least 24 mos waiting time. Is it normal? Is it the fact that she is living with me in Canada makes the waiting time to be much longer?

If you apply "outland" the processing time is about 12 months or maybe less. She can be living in Canada and still apply outland ie Member of Family Class.
