1. There are 3 basic methods as a skilled worker. FSW 1 but your occupation has to be on the list of "38" to qualify http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2008/2008-11-28a.asp It would appear that with your present occupation you wouldn't qualify.
2. There are FSW 2/3 which requires that you either are working in Canada as skilled worker or you have an employer who in Canada who is will to employ you permanently in a skilled position once you have received your permanent residence. They have to obtain an Arranged Employment Option from Service Canada
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp
3. If you wanted to work in Canada for a year as a temporary worker, there is the Bunac visa, which allows you to have an open work permit for a year (only for UK citizens) where you can work at any job. http://www.bunac.org/UK/workcanada/ You should note that these applications opened in mid december and may all be gone until next december.
Thanks for the reply, i thought i wouldne be skilled worker,
I also do SLT at works which is an IT tech, but i dont actully have any qualifications for that, the company gave me that part of the job because they knew I was good with computers but i dont have proof of that other then if they take a companies recomendation, which i dont think they would.
The last one you listed seems intresting, or can I come to Canada myself if I can get a work visa and try and find a job like you said and then maybe they will take me on permenant or is that a long shot? at the moment i am looking i dont think i would move for a year etc, due to raising funds etc to support myself there
