Thank you all for your best wishes! Sorry, it took me forever to respond back. My notebook crashed over the week end.

I applied on June 12
Got a Letter to do my Medicals on July 15
Medicals Completed on July 28
Resubmitted Travel Doc back to CHC on July 30
They sent me the Visa on August 20 thru Gerry’s/Fed-Express
I collected my passport on August 21.


A few Questions if anyone can answer:
I noted that they have not given me a visa for the full term of my studies. I am doing a Bachelors Program from George Brown College in Toronto. The length of my program is 4 years, but they have given me a 18 Months visa. Can anyone tell me why? Offcourse the answer is I will have to reapply, but, can I reapply form Canada or do I have to come back to Karachi and reapply.

Please share your experiences.

Hey dude... we can apply from canada.. and its far more easier to apply from what we have been through now.. We can just apply online itself and wait for a response.. Infact the good news is... George brown college itself provides facilities helping in your immigration processes..

I applied to GB too but then my course got suspended led me to attend Seneca college now.. Anyway.. Hope for the best.. pray for us too.

you can extend your study permit within the Canada as long as u want but check your passport expiry before going to Canada if possible renew it from Pakistan upto req period

Hey could u plz tell me n other who r trying in canada, how to satisfy or wht to say to the imm. officer to make him belief that i will return to my home country.
Without gre n toffel, with ielts only do u think they'll think me as genuine student?

Thanks for your congratulatory message! I was not called for an interview, but, a few tips that I can share are noted below:
- Choose a Course that reflects your current or previous academic background
- Always be sure that the course you choose is not available in your hometown and if it is, make sure you have valid reasons to point the difference B/w doing the course in your hometown and Canada.
- Make sure you have atleast a 6.5 IELTS score, my score was 6.5 and I got accepted at the colleges I applied. I do not have any toffel
- Make sure you or whoever is sponsoring you has enough funds or investments available, you can show property too, in your parents name, in my case my parents showed their business and an office, plus our homes and bank funds. In addition to that I will be staying with my cousin in Canada, so she showed her employment letter and savings statements, plus she sent the CHC a letter that she was my authorized rep and would be my guardian in Canada.
- You can send them a letter accompanying your documents, this letter can state your intentions of why you want to study in Canada and in which way this course is related to your previous or current studies. Through this letter you should be able to demonstrate your intentions of taking the course and returning back to your hometown when completed.
