Help regarding VISA....URGENT PLZ

I am from Jamshoro Pakistan, student of Ph.D in chemistry. I have got 6 months research fellowship from Higher education commision of Pakistan for to carry out part of my research work at McGill University Mcdonald campus Quebec. Travel costs (to and from pakistan to canada) will be borne by HEC and I'll get US $ 1200 per month as expenditure (total of 7200 US$ for six months) and Now as my course is less than 6 months so should i apply only for Temporary Resident Visa? or still i should apply for study permit/visa ? Please guide me thanks.

Hi,

1. Your course duration is 6 months so you do not need a study permit. Still, you can apply for it from your homeland, as you need the same to continue your studies in same/another program after 6 months. If this is not an option, you must apply for it from any visa office outside Canada.

I have applied for the Temporary Visit Visa on 13-April 2012, still there is no response, how much time will it take? From where I can get information about process? any info Plz?
