I have a query regarding proof of funds to show as part of documents submission post I received ITA.
I am a primary applicant with my wife as secondary applicant and my son as a dependent. So as per the CIC guidelines, I would need to show proof of funds worth around CAD 20000.
Now since I currently don't have that much amount in my account and also we(wife and me) don't have a joint bank account as such, I am trying to understand what options I can use to show as proof of funds.
My wife is currently working and she does have around Rs. 8 lacs (CAD 14000) including salary account,FD and other deposits. I was planning to ask her to transfer the amount to my bank account. My question is that :would this transfer be a red flag and consequently my application getting rejected?
Please suggest any other options such as affidavit or legal access to my wife's funds(how do i show this). Also any gift deed I can show
This is not correct. If spouse is accompanying, his/her account can be shown as POF. It can be explained in LOE and as a safe option, include a letter of authorization from your spouse mentioning that funds will be used to immigrate to Canada.
I think your wife can send the money into your account. She provides a letter/affidavit/explain the source of this fund in your letter of explanation. In addition, you may want to highlight her name in your bank statement showing the transfer you received from her.

Interesting. I have read this on several forums where the money is required to be in the primary applicant's account or a joint account that has the primary applicant as one of the account owner. Although very trivial, the POF is one of the document checklist in the primary applicant's profile and not the dependant. It will be a better option then if what you are suggesting is accepted.

Yes. But as suggested by Takentaken421 you can use your wife's account but you must proof that you have access to the money (according to the CIC website). For this part I don't know what proof can be tendered and an input from other members is needed.
