Help please:doctor say he needs "official order" from embassy before sending res

Hi All,
I am totally confused. My husband had his medical check, but he didn´t receive anything from the doctor, just the receipt that he paid the fee. They are telling me, that they need an official "order" from the Canadian Embassy before they can send his results and that they will call me back tomorrow. I don´t understand: I thought there is no official "order" and that it is enough to bring along Appendix C and I told the lady so, and I thought that I will send all results to Mississauga?

The doctor sends all your medical results to the VO office that you put down, some people get the IMM1017 Medical report section A from there DMP, some only get a reciept to show payment. You can find many posts on here about this.
We sent our application off just with proof of the payment and we also had an email from our DMP to show delievery to london VO so we sent that as well.
I have got my IMM1017 now, and once they have approved sponsership, I can forward that to the VO with my file number to match it all up.
Im not sure what the official order is, maybe someone here can clarify that for you. but as far as Im aware, you do the medicals, the doctors send them to the VO and then its looked at once your application reaches the VO that you are going to use. Are you doing an inland or outland application,that might have some bearing on it.

Thanks so much for your quick answer, I´m really in panic now that I did something wrong. I´m doing outland application, and I thought that I will send all the applictation forms together with the medical exam. So we filled out the application forms, got all the other documents that we need, only medical was left. Was that all correct? I think that they have only people coming to that doctor because of Work Permit in Canada and not family class sponsorship, that´s maybe why they were talking about that special embassy order? So my husband got that prrof of payment, so I can send this along with the application form?

The doctor is supposed to give the applicant copy 2 of the Medical Report - Section A. The applicant is then supposed to include that in the application package that is sent to Mississauga. All of the Region Specific Guides include this instruction on the checklist: "Include for yourself and each of your family members Copy 2 of the Medical Report-Section A that the Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) signs and gives to you after you undergo the medical examination."

However, it seems from reports from other forum members that many doctors and their staff do not know this. They seem to get confused, because there are several classes of immigrants, and for some of the classes the procedure is different.

Maybe try showing them a copy of the medical instructions or the Region Specific Guide.

If the doctor still won't give him the copy 2 of the Medical Report - Section A, then at least try to get some proof the medical was done and include it in the application package, with an explanation. You could also try complaining about the DMP to CIC.

Hey canadianwoman, you are so right. The first DMP I called up wanted me to bring along the letter from the embassy and had zero idea what the spousal application was! So I called up the other one and they seemed to know what I was talking about. But still, when I went in for my medicals they just 'assumed' it to be for a student visa. When I corrected them, they said that they dont get too many spousal visas so that's that. So I would say, ask the DMP the procedure first, how and what they are going to do with your results, where they are going to be sent, and lastly make sure you get your proper receipts back

Thank you canadianwoman and shamsia. I also think that the confusion has to do with not too many people applying through family class. I told them 2 times on the phone, that I am a candaian citizen, so they went on with the medical chekup but later said, they won´t send anythzing to anyone until they have some official letter from the embassy.

Thank you canadain woman. I just got a reply from the canadian embassy stating the same thing as you, namely that the doctor should have given him the Section A form, which I then have to include in my application.
