Why Schedule 3 doesn't have any check box for less than 1 year and also between 3 years to 4 years?
what should I do for my 8 months experience and another 3.5 years experience?

CIC does not evaluate your total work experience based upon what you select on the form (not that I am encouraging to provide inaccurate information).

CIC will be looking closely on your Letter of Reference and the supporting documents that you provide.

Therefore, I would advise you select the nearest possible value that matches your total experience and state this clearly in a cover letter.

You should be fine.
