help needed..passport about near to expire

I am about to apply to my PR under common-law sponsorship inland. I live in Ontario with my partner and we have all the requirements to submit the application next week. I will also apply for the extension of the work permit at the same time.

My problem is that my passport and postgraduate work permit expire April 23, 2018. I am from Venezuela and currently the embassy told me that getting a new passport is taking 8 months or more. What would happen if in 4 months i dont have a passport? They cant issue me the WP, right? And worse, what would happen if in a year from now i get approved the PR but i still dont have a valid passport?

Your OWP will have expiry date only up until your passport expiry. After that, with no new passport and no new OWP you will be unable to continue working.

You must also have a valid passport to do PR landing.

So you better apply for a new passport immediately.

Hola, soy de Venezuela, introduce todos los documentos de una vez, para que el tiempo vaya corriendo, ellos te pediran el nuevo pasaporte cuando amerite. Tambien realiza de una vez el tramite del nuevo pasaporte, es posible que llegue en menos tiempo.
