I received an email from CPP-O requesting for my 2012 notice of assessment. Mid March this year, I emailed them my 2012 T4s as an additional documents to include on my CEC application( in case if my 2011 information will not be sufficient) but didn't include the NOA ( all my previous tax information was sent with my application). My problem is that I haven't received any tax refund or NOA for 2012 because I filled my tax by paper mail and it usually takes longer to process. I called CRA and they told me to wait for 6 weeks until I hear something from them. I just don't know what to do. I was waiting for medical request and they came up with this. They never mentioned the deadline to submit the request. What they said was to attach it as a single file. I am very worried and don't know whether to send them email explain my situation or wait till whenever I get my NOA. will it be too late??? I am also waiting for my BOWP
You can't do anything to speed up getting your notice of assessment. I would just wait until the NOA comes - if your NOA doesn't arrive for another 2 weeks, then maybe just send a note to CPP-O letting them know that you filed your return but haven't received your NOA yet.
Assuming 6 weeks processing, then your NOA should be coming within the next couple weeks unless you filed late.

Thanks Seton, yeah, I filled a bit late, around mid April. I just hope they wont speed up or make any negative decision b4 I receive it. Thanks for ur input, and I will have to wait for sometime b4 emailing them.
I would suggest to ahead and inform CPP O right away that you filed your return in feb and have been adviced that you will receive NOA in 6 weeks.
You will send that to CPP as soon as you receive. Thanks.
That's it. In this way, you are informing them abt ur situation and also getting relieved from your side.
I do not see any harm in writing simple email (although they might not read it..

)
Agree with Sara. Inform them right away about when you filed and how long CRA says it will take and that you will provide it as soon as it arrives. Silence on your part could be interpreted as non-compliance and ultimately lead to rejection.
If you have filed taxes before, you can do it electronically going forward...saves a lot of time. The CRA website has software programs you can download for free and do your return. Did mine for the first time this year, took me 4 hours and I called CRA with questions. Got refund and NOA in about 14 days.

Yes, Ujbaby, that is exactly what you should be doing, do not wait and write them a quick note notifying them about your part!

Don't worry, I have a feeling that it is nothing. They will wait for your documents and will not jump the gun in anyway. I am sure. So just relaxing. I know that it is easier said than done, cause, even if I were in your place, I would be shitting in my pants right now.
But stay positive. You have done the right thing.
Cheers.
