Hello, my wife is a korean national and I am a Canadian citizen. If I was to have my child in Canada would I have to pay out of pocket for both my wife's and Child's costs. My friend who is a woman had her daughter in Canada but she is Canadian and the father is Korean and there were not high costs.
Yes, if your wife doesn't have provincial health coverage, you will have to pay the full cost of the birth and any associated care. If you have provincial healthcare, you should be able to add the child immediately.
A regular birth is around $5000-$10000. If your wife suffers any complications, that cost can skyrocket.

The only thing that matters is the mother's healthcare status. The father's healthcare is not relevant since it can NOT extend to the mother in terms of pregnancy and delivery costs.
What province are you in? And does your wife have a PR app already in process?
