Good day to you all,

I am one to look ahead and be positive so I thought I would check out flights for my wife to come here on a one way ticket. I got approval last week when I decided to call immigration. they told me that because they had requested the landing fee that all medical, police clearance etc. has been approved and that my wife may receive her visa very soon, congratulations. (her exact words) I loved hearing that, it sure made my week.

I was just looking on the westjet web and punched in for a one way ticket for the last week of July just to see and it accepted the one way. the cost was $360- $485. that is reasonable! that is form Varadero to Toronto then to Edmonton, 7.5 hr flight. I called cubana airlines and it would cost $410 just to Toronto.

I am still going to call westjet and confirm all will be well though.
Anyway just thought I would share that info.

Congratulations!! What does your ecas say? Did it change at all since the beginning?
My file got sent to Havana April 18. I think I may call them. They seemed to be really helpful when you called.

Yes, she was helpful and pleasant. I believe that if you are pleasant with them to start with then they will be more helpful and possibly give you more answers then as if you were not.
