HOw was everyone's weekend? I made a feast last night and had the girls over (they brought the vino ) and now have tons of leftovers which saves me from cooking today hahaha

Hey Avana.....I had my daughter's wedding shower this weekend and then two of my bestest friends stayed and we got into that wine and had a great pj party!!!!

Glad you are feeling better...it happens....it is hard to stay positive all the time and one is certainly allowed a pity party...but not for too long!!!!!

And I am a big fan of leftovers and not cooking....

Ya, sorta why I stayed away from the forum, didnt want my negative nancy attitude to infect others! Sounds like you had a great wknd too! Vino sure helps! lol Excited, have food for all day today and lunch tomo I bet, plus frozen soup! woohoo! Such a pain to cook for urself, so I like to feed others and then keep the leftovers to save me a night of cooking, especially when I finish work late, like tonight I'll only get home at 7:30... blech... lol

I went to the Dominican in April for a family vacay, and I was packed in an hour, and I sat there feeling like something was missing and that it was too easy lol

It's amazing what we pack for Cuba!

Planning a trip to havana in January with my parents and already warned them that I'll be stuffing their luggage with all the gifts that are to go down lol

Yayyyy shuster you must be soooo excited!! and I know, packing for Cuba is a nightmare!! lol When I go with my parents we all have overstuffed suitcases and carry ons... lol My mother gets as crazy as me bringing things, dresses for all the girls, we've even brought like 5 or 6 strollers for ppl over the years! They always look at us funny bringing one and we have no baby with us... lol

@ Shuster....I am sorry I have no suggestions as I am so new to this process. I just wanted you to know that I am sending you good positive thoughts. What KJG is suggesting makes sense to me. I do not think sending more proof will piss someone off...it just helps them make a more informed decision. Other ladies...am I wrong about this? Has there been a situation in the past where the Havana Office got annoyed with someone adding proof?

I know someone that sent proof during her wait since April 5th file reaching havana. Well her husband is not here yet. She finally got an email saying 1 email during the DND date is one month delay. 2 emails 2 months and so forth. I would not send no proof until they ask for it which is usually before the interview.

Are you saying they told her that sending an email to the embassy causes a one month delay?

Good morning everyone. Yes this is going to be a wonderful week for all; positive thoughts....

I did receive an email this morning from my MP "I would like to confirm that we have received your email and we are in wait on the call back of the ministerial agent." I had sent an email regarding the medical.

The reply I got when I sent further proof was "Info is added to your file. No reply will be sent if case is within stipulated processing times or if info requested is at www.cic.gc.ca."

My letter in July from CIC stated "Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the
Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail,
fax, or in writing as follows:
Havana
Embassy of Canada
Visa Section
P.O. Box 6125
Havana
Cuba

I would hope they wouldn't delay due to providing further information as above.

Well I have a hard time believing that about the delay....I sent two emails in the month of August.....one on August 8th and one on August 11th and we received generic reply byack on Aug 20th and on the 29th we were called for an interview....so again I think it is up to the IO dealing with your file........and there is no rhyme or reason or set pattern.....and the day we were there for the interview people were dropping off additional proof left, right and centre.....

Hi KJG; I was there 5 years ago and stayed at the Gran Bahia Principle. I liked it; prefer Cuba though LOL

Yes after her all emails (once a month) when she just wanted to add proof to her file. In September she got a email saying that sending emails penalized her and it clearly decescribed 1 email one month and 2 emails 2 months. I understand everyone is different but why risk it when you could get one officer that is as strict as the above case. It is not worth it.

Hi KJG; I was there 5 years ago and stayed at the Gran Bahia Principle. I liked it; prefer Cuba though LOL

we looked at the Gran Bahia Principe but the date she wanted to get married on was not available so we are staying at the Bavaro Palace Deluxe.......I am sure it will be lovely but yes my island of choice is Cuba too!!!! LOL
