My SA was approved Aug 26, then the application was received in Havana Sept 18, so it took them over 3 weeks to get it to Havana in my case. Since then, I have not heard anything... no requests for new/additional documents, nothing. I can't call or email (it's still well within the posted processing time of 9 months.) So I've ordered my notes, just to see what they have done, if anything. My guess and expectation is that it is sitting somewhere collecting dust for another few months. Especially seeing as the holidays are coming. Or maybe they want to clear out all the 2014 applications by the end of the year... here's hoping
Hahahah I'm hoping for the same! My mom was the same, she's like let's just hope they want to start the new year fresh lol! The one thing I've learned from reading all these posts is that everyone's timeline varies a bit :S.
Lokyy. I only got one and only submitted they one. Its the long marriage certificate that gets issued from Havana a few weeks after your wedding. U bring it back and you only need to translate it. It doesn't need to be notarized. Just translated.
That's what I did at least. Hope that eases your mind
Hey all, we got two on the day of our marriage and the notary told us that the "original" was being sent to Havana for all the stamps. When I went back a couple of months later we went back to the notary's office to pick up the original, the only difference was that it has a few colorful stamps. But a friend of mine who recently sponsored his wife here from cuba told me we had to go to the canadian embassy in cuba and get a special stamp on our marriage certificate. We did it but i'm not sure if that's a money making scheme that cuba has set up or if we actually need it. I just did it to avoid any problems.
We got 2 marriage certificates I was wondering what the wait time is after SA and application is sent to Havana Is it 9 months from that point as stated on CIC or is the time counted from the time the application is complete?

The 9 month count starts after Havana rcv's your application - but it usually doesnt take that long... by the 4 month mark you should hear something... (so i hear... and so i keep telling myself to keep happy! )
