On my way to Holguin Sept 22 to marry my Cuban fiance and was wondering if there is a charge for a police certificate in Havana and how long in advance for appointments for it as well as appointment for medical. I want to get started on forms as soon as I get back.
You dont need to go to Havana for Police certificate I think. Just check with police in Holguín and they can have it in a few days for free I think or very low cost.
My wife called at the hospital in Havana 2 weeks before the exam and she got a date and an hour to show up there for the exam. She got IMM1017 the same day and went back home.
Congrats!! My husband got his the same day, I heard there were about 15 people there at 8:30 in the morning yesterday and all got their visa's. All the best to you and your family!

I have question. it may sound strange. I am planning to visit cuba and I want to do my teeth implants there. is that good idea, would you recommend me a place . thx I am in Canada
I'm trying to get information about obtaining a cuban police check from its foreign consulates, either in Montreal or in Washington DC. Does anyone have any info on the proceedure or how to reach them? For the past couple of days, no one has been answering the phone or replying to my email requests.
Anyone with info will be much appreciated!

Your documents back from consulate are just translated or you paid the 176$ each for your documents ? Not sure if the stamp you talk is for translation or for final payment and approval ? they wont stamp for approval unless they've been authenticated by Foreign Affairs in Ottawa first.
I think it's always safer to contact the notary and sent by fax or email all your documents and ask the notary if you are ok with your documents. That way, you won't have any surprises when you'll go there.
I appreciate that. Have you ever requested a police check before? It's a bit weird because on the site it doesn't give details like actual fees to pay, who to make out the check to, what is the form you have to fill out.
The police certificate must be done in the counrty of birth or where you have resided most of your life. It depends on the country if there is a charge. You would need to contact that countries police station or consolute. I am on my way to Cuba in September and my understanding is that they are done in Havana.

Is a police certificate required?

Non-Resident Requests
You may obtain a Certificado de Antecedentes Penales through Cuban consular offices.
Right, I understand that, but I was asking about a Cuban born person who needs to obtain one, but is not in Cuba, and cannot travel to Cuba at the moment.
Which is why I was asking about either Montreal or Washington DC consulate.
Not sure if that is possible however here is a phone number that may help answer
