Yes 1st H1b after F1. Do you happen to know any other guys in 221g from Ottawa? I heard there was a WhatsApp group for Ottawa 221g, any idea on the link or anything?

I had my H1B visa interview in Vancouver about two weeks ago. I received a 221(g) email stating that my case requires additional processing. The email also mentioned that if they need further documents, they will contact me, but for now, nothing is required from my end.
Initially, my DS-160 status showed "Approved," but it was later changed to "Refused."
Does anyone have experience with how long this administrative processing might take? Also, is it advisable to contact the consulate directly for an update, or should I continue to wait?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I had an interview for my H1B visa at the US Embassy in Karachi, Pakistan, and the Visa Officer (VO) handed me a 221(g) Green Slip and returned my passport. During the interview, the VO asked me a few questions, including:
- My current company name
- Details about the company
- My work location
The VO also requested my educational degrees, which I provided in hard copy. After verifying them, the VO kept my original degrees for further verification. At the end of the interview, the VO informed me that no additional documents were required at that time and handed me a 221(g) Green Slip. Finally, she communicated that they would update me via email. Does anyone have an idea how long it will take for the next steps?

Hi I have applied for US visa and got approved the same day but the online status showed refused for few hours and after that approved. and issued. I was not given any slip or documents. They took my passport and I was told that the passport will be back with visa stamp in few weeks. I got passport with visa stamp in less than a week. Why that refusal was for? Does it count as an actual refusal? and do i need to disclose in future application?
