I have a general question regarding choosing consulate location for dropbox.
Can we choose any consulate location for dropbox in canada, Irrespective of where we currently reside in Canada?

Hi, sorry but I am not sure about that. I know you can only send to Toronto if you live in GTA area. Or else people are sending to Ottawa consulate. Are you in Ontario?

Yes Neha. I live in Toronto GTA.. Looks like, The only option i hv is to send it to Toronto consulate.
Also, do we need to send I-797 Approval copy for drop-box. I am yet to get the I-797 approval copy.
I am planning to send I-797 Notice of action form which has the receipt no. in it along with passport, photo, ds-160 confirmation page.

If you have I797 approval then it’s good to send copy but otherwise they only want petition number as shown in I-129. I would suggest send copy I-129 form also if you have it but that’s not a requirement.

Still nothing for me either. This just invites all kinds of fears. Did they lose the documents? Did I submit something wrong? They shouldn't leave people in the complete dark for this long. So frustrating

I know right! My problem is even when we call them they can’t tell if they got the application delivered to them atleast. And even the 4-6 weeks they didn’t say too firmly. Kept saying that it’s upto consular office on how long they take to process. Like, what the hell!!
