All documents submitted end of May

In early August they sent an email that they are "still waiting for police certificate", which we already sent in May. So we re-sent it. Then they sent an email that file has been sent for final review. No news since then. File is still waiting to be assigned to an officer.

I had talked to MLA, they informed me that the government was busy in rescue of people from Afghanistan. They need medical and status here and the government is processing their files as a priority. I am thankful that the government tried to save as many people and children as they could.

Looks like there were bulk approvals for AIP in the summer and that was prioritized. Would make sense that eventually they will bulk process those waiting for COPR from spring/summer and that will be the priority. The H&C department has been processing cases much faster than the 2-3 it used to be. They may be experimenting with different ways to process applications to maximize efficiency and decrease processing times. Things do come up like the situation in Afghanistan where resources can be pulled temporarily plus holiday time in the summer.
