It was a local branch and they were kinda of surprised at the document i showed them like they haven’t even heard/seen such.. lol i will just wait till i have COpr. can’t begin to give myself unnecessary stress right now because of health card when i have insurance i can easily use incase anything happens

EDITED: Sorry I hadn't seen your earlier response about the MPP potentially taking a long time. Contacting my MPP and working with them actually didn't make the process feel like it took a long time, it was a matter of a few weeks (like 3 max) rather than months. That said, differently MPPs work different. If you are already in Stage 2 requests (medical, police, etc), then waiting for COPR is not a problem because as it should be cleared quickly. Plus you seem to be insured otherwise. If you have the sense that it could take longer (for example, you are not at Stage 2 requests), then just know that the MPP doesn't necessarily work slowly.

I have the exact same timeline as you and I still haven't heard anything. Mine was based on hardship and establishment. got Aip in September 2020 too. sent my application in Jan 2019 and still waiting. Did they send you COPR yet? Congrats to you man!

Hi Andy! Yes, I got COPR. Hopefully yours comes through soon! Did you get your Stage 2 requests yet? To be fair, I was told that the gov't could take six weeks or more before reaching out to me for the Stage 2 requests. My timeline for medical, police etc was pretty fast.

Well, I wouldn't say you shouldn't listen to your lawyer. I'm my own case, my refugee appeal is with the federal and I'm a psw. If you check the pathway website, you will see where it specifically says "if you are a H&C applicant, ask us to transfer your application to the Pathway ". This is what I'm doing because the officers are prioritizing the essential worker application. So, the ball is in your court. Check the link below.

It’s just the best thing to do in this case since you have not started your H&C application. Straightforward

I knew about the second option but was told it might be a long process so I just did not use. I continued buying a private insurance for my relative every 3-4 weeks while waiting for the COPR. Then we got the OHIP from the SO main office relatively smoothly.
