I was wondering maybe Quebec is different but my lawyer said it has nothing to do with being in QC so we just have to wait.

Of course, the officer will send you a written decision with all details. Based on what he/she approved your first stage and what you're allowed to do with your AIP.
Others are lucky bc I see their second stage taking just weeks or few months
But their first stage may have taken 2 years, like in my case. Especially those who applied in summer 2018.

I did not see anything like that in our AIP but maybe my case is very different as I said before. I thought it is a rather standard letter, isn't it?

That might be yes . Like why you granted stage 1 approval and that you could get work and study permits + he stated stage 2 processing time.
