Most people who apply under H&C end up falling out of status in Canada while they wait for processing to complete or are already out of status at the time they apply. Again, this is normal. Make sure he remains in Canada and does not leave until there is a decision in his application.

It took almost a month, I had to email the immigration officer who approved my stage 1

24 months is a long time, I was at 18 months when I went to my MP , luckily they did a follow up and I saw some progress, I would suggest you do the same

I do not have my uci number as the lawyer has gone quiet on e application, thankfully i got married to a Canadian last yr ,so we are in e process of applying for sponsorship, but i will be happy if this goes through considering the time spent.
