I have a question pls.i applied to renew my work permit 2 months ago as a failed refugee claimant with a prra in process.now that I have got aip and they closed my prra will ircc renew my work permit or they will expect me to reapply with my aip decision.will be grateful if anyone have and idea

With AIP your workpermit will be valid for 2 years.

I have same ur situation... no they will send it for 2 years u dont have to do anything sit still... thats what happened with as the officer will in system to c ur status before issuing the WP and that time he will c AIP and give u 2 years

Oh really, I thought they will do background check by themselves but I guess you applied after when they make biometric mandatory

When you call IRCC and ask about your file..whom do you talk to? An officer or an agent?
I'm thinking to call tomorrow ( if I hot the guts to do so) but I've been waiting for a response I submitted all documents 3 months ago
Any recommendation?

I called IRCC last week to verify how to apply for work permit with aip, the agent sent me a link and told me not to apply online since I don't have a valid passport, she also said to send a copy of aip with application through mail( postal), I will suggest you call IRCC, since you already applied for the work permit, they might ask you to update through web form but most likely, they have updated status of applicants.

If you don't have any answer or letter from work permit refusal then you don't need to apply again. you will get work permit on same application within time automatically.

U can call its not big deal.. and they will tell u the last update... but i think backround check not more... as it takes time in some situations...

In Quebec it takes longer because you have to get CSQ first then PR. CSQ processing time was about 7wks

Lawyer explained it to me. If CSQ is approved then application would continue to process. If not approved, you will have to move to another province
