according to the procedure they will not seize your documents when you apply for permanent residence under humanitarian reasons.

but in the case of an asylum application they will seize the passport

They seize all my documents,I don't know if it's different for the ones applying from within Canada

she will seize his passport, his birth certificate, his driver's license if he has one, etc ... to complicate his life in Canada and make it more difficult according to @Ayanna ?

I know they only seize your stuff if you apply for PRRA or refugee. If you apply for h&c they do not seize your documents.

I think in her case they seize her documents. They do not seize your documents if you apply under H&C. Seeking asylum or PRRA your documents get seized

For me was PRRA then I applied H&C
So I don't have the passports & Birth certificates or at least let's say I didn't get them back yet

This is what I know as well, I think that some people are not clear and accurate in their information, which leads to spreading wrong ideas......

You will get them back after IRCC let CBSA know that you were granted PR. I read it on their site. I think the link is posted somewhere on the forum

Every case is different I am talking about those ppl are who are facing cbsa problems if you apply for PRRA or asylum applications or out of status
Some time ircc hold your passport and send it to cbsa if you don’t have status or cbsa contact Ircc
