Hello, even I a going through the same situation, today when I called IRCC, the IVR said, we don't require your medical, we don't require any additional documents and we are reviewing your background check.
Does this means an officer is assigned to my file?
Hi guys, I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea for the processing time for criminal check. I applied under h&c and my background is currently being processed. All the other checks have been completed except for the criminal which hasn’t started. It’s been a couple of months and it still hasn’t been started. I’m beginning to get worried. I know there’s no definite time but does anyone know the the time frame and the possible reason for it not being started. I’d really appreciate it if anyone can help.
I am on visitor visa and have taken extensions.i read we can only apply after AIP. But you said you had applied in the past after AOR can you guide me more?

Yes. In general, when ECAS shows application received, you will hear message we do not need your fingerprints. When ECAS shows in process, IVR will says we are processing your backgorund check.

My lawyer emailed IRCC to ask if I could get biometric ememption but they denied. They replied that I can do biometrics even with travel document if that have photo on it.
I was able to get emergency certificate from embassy. When I went for biometrics, they said this is not right document because they are not able to scan it but I requested her to enter my details manually. She went to confirm it with another officer and they accepted it. Finally, I did my biometrics.
